Founder and CEO of the Nashville Entrepreneur Center, Josh Shapiro, says the league has not been doing enough to encourage entrepreneurship.
“It’s an incredible challenge, but the problem is the only way to create and thrive is to get the right talent on board,” he says.
“When you’re a small business owner, the first thing you want to do is recruit the right people.”
The EntrepreneurWorks program is a program that allows business owners to work from home to develop their businesses.
It’s a way to get new talent onboard.
Shapiro says the program is currently run by the Nashville Chamber of Commerce.
The program allows business to recruit and develop their own people, which in turn helps to generate more revenue.
Shapiro also believes the NFL should make a commitment to hiring a number of new business owners.
“I think it’s absolutely critical that the NFL makes sure that there is a team in place,” Shapiro says.
The NFL currently has 14 teams.
According to Shapiro, only two have more than 25 percent of their teams on the field, and the rest are struggling.
Shapiro hopes the league will take a more proactive approach.
“The NFL has an obligation to the game, and it’s an obligation that they need to deliver,” he said.
“So they’re going to need to look at the numbers and take action to bring in the right amount of talent and people to help their franchises grow.”
